A Legacy Novel
She was once his liar.
He was once her savior.
Cross Donati fills his days with the mafia, family, and responsibility. The wild boy is a distant memory. A waiting prince now sits in his place. An old debt puts the gunrunner right back into the path of his past, but he only sees his future.
Every king needs a queen.
Catherine Marcello learned how to stand on her own, and she no longer needs saving. The sly girl is far more dangerous now. A broken promise taught her how to live again. One conversation puts the hustler face to face with her first love, but she only sees heartache.
Every God needs a prayer.
The scars of their history runs deep. Every lie told, and each secret spilled hurts a little bit more.
Love does not care.
Love will not wait.
So, why does life keep standing in the way?
Revere is A Legacy Novel. While it can be read as a follow up to Always, it can also be read as a standalone novel.

A Legacy Novel
A wild boy.
A sly girl.
Cross Donati defines trouble. He does what he wants because he’s never known anything different. He’s unapologetic, and he owns it.
Catherine Marcello is every bit a good girl … on the outside. Her entire world is a legacy, and she lives it. She’s curious, and she’s exploring it.
She chases bad things.
He never learned to be good.
They’re late nights, stolen cars, first times, fist fights, leather jackets, beaches, bloody smiles, and life.
They’re vicious and precious, dangerous and harmless, innocence and sin. They are love.
Love is killing for someone.
Love is living for someone.
Sometimes, you can’t keep saving your heart when it means sacrificing it, too.
Sometimes, you have to learn to save yourself.
Sometimes, love has to fall, crash, and burn.
This is what love is like when you’re a principe and principessa della mafia.
This is what love is like when you’re Cross Donati and Catherine Marcello.
Always is a Legacy Novel, and while it is standalone, it can also act as a prequel for Revere. Each Legacy Novel stands alone from any other book, series, or collection.

I’ve been waiting for Unruly since I read the sneak peek from Revere and it absolutely did not disappoint! I couldn’t put the book down the moment I’ve got my hands on my own copy. Unruly is like an entire book of Epilogue for Cross and Catherine. And when you are as invested as I am with these characters, you will definitely appreciate the entire unruly life that Cross and Catherine has led.
The grown up versions of these characters are so endearing and seeing how they got to this point of their own happily ever after will make you love them even more. We saw them as teenagers experiencing the trials of first love, then as young adults finding their way back to each other again, and finally in their last book, we see them as parents to the wonderful Cece Donati. The character progression and maturity of Cross and Catherine are what made them so memorable to me. I feel like I’ve been there for each milestone that they have achieved in life up until they are finally ruling their own kingdoms, with Cross as the Cosa Nostra Don and Catherine as a Queen Pin.
I also loved the parallelisms of their characters to their first generation counterparts. But what’s even more wonderful about it is that Bethany-Kris has managed to create Cross and Catherine as characters who may have similar traits to their parents, but not their exact replicas. Their story is entirely their own and they lead their life of crime not by following the footsteps of the ones that came before (e.g. Calisto, Dante, and Catrina) but by forging their own path.
And can I just say that I love they dynamic between Dante and Cross now? Who would have thought that they’ll be such close allies and confidants now that they have finally settled their differences. The adorable munchkin Cece is probably another reason why they are so close now. I especially enjoyed reading about their conversations in the book because both men show how it’s like to love women who shine in their own spotlight. The unwavering support that they show to their spouse is one of the best highlights of this book.
You’ll start reading the Legacy series because like me, you may be a fan of the Filthy Marcellos or the Donati Bloodlines series but after reading the ANY Legacy novel, you will eventually love them for their own stories and endearing qualities. That’s why there will be no problem if it’s your first time reading the Legacy novels on Cross and Catherine. You don’t even have to read it in order because each book can be read as a standalone! How awesome is that?
We also get to see glimpses on the lives of other characters in the Legacy series which I can’t wait to read about. There’s John, Andino and a little of Camilla. I can’t believe how Bethany-Kris seamlessly writes these amazing teasers (inserted in the subplots of the book) which will eventually merge into one cohesive universe of the Legacy series. Now, I can’t wait to finally get my hands on another Legacy novel!
