He watches his life pass by as an outsider in his own world, absent and alone.

Until he finds her.

For Leo, Mia Kovács is like a prize, a gift wrapped in passion and devotion.

And she’s his—his very own secret he doesn’t have to share.

Together, they can overcome anything…

heartache and destruction, guilt and regret.

Mia gives Leo everything he didn’t know he needed,

including her fragile heart.

The only thing she doesn’t give him…

are secrets of her own.

Jay lives in the suburbs of Melbourne, Australia, in her dream home where music is loud and laughter is louder.

I’ve been a fan of Jay Mclean way before I started doing book reviews. Her releases have always been under my radar ever since the More Than series. So you better believe that I’ve gotten my hands on the third installment of the Preston Brothers books!

What I loved about Leo is that this is not your usual coming of age story. Leo and Mia’s story was so heart-wrenchingly beautiful that you will definitely need a little more time to decompress. There hasn’t been a lot of books that have moved me to tears of the years, but Leo, in its perfectly angsty and emotional plot, has reduced me to tears.

I must say that I really felt Mia’s struggles. A girl’s teenage psyche is a fragile thing and seeing her break little by little made my heart ache for her even more. And then there’s Leo. He’s not your typical male lead either. He has a quiet aloofness to him and he’s broody (which we all love). But the thing that endears me the most about him is that he keeps the people he loves close to his heart. He’s a sensitive guy but that what makes him more special.

I also think that Mia and Holden’s relationship deserves a special shoutout in this review. I would have loved to have a male friend like Holden growing up. And can I just say kudos to the author for not giving in to the best friend’s love triangle troupe? I loved their purely platonic relationship. It was a perfect plot device for this story.

I’ve read all the Preston Brothers series and not one has ever disappointed me. But I must say, Leo is my favorite so far. It truly holds a special place in your heart once you read it.

They came from two different worlds.

They didn’t fit … until they did.

But a simple meeting between Renzo Zulla and Lucia Marcello was just the start—follow them from New York to Vegas, and even San Francisco as they fight to keep what they want the most …

I know that I’ve been a little late to the party but GAAAHHH, rereading this trilogy had been the highlight of my hectic work life. Bethany-Kris’ main leads are some of the most fleshed-out characters that I have seen in the romance realm.

There’s no doubt that Renzo and Lucia are one of those. Since this is a trilogy, you’ll have to spend your time reading the books for quite a while. BUT, I’m telling you that it is all worth it. It’s one of those stories that you cannot put down until you read the last page. And how satisfying it was to it all.

It’s so action-packed with so many twists and turns that I’m certain that calling their story as a star-crossed romance is totally underrated. Their love story is more than their origins. I loved how the characters have matured over time.

And I must say that rereading this all in one go made me appreciate Bethany-Kris’ pacing with her writing. It made me see their character development a bit more, I was rooting for their love story like true fan rooting for their OTP!

Plus, the two action-packed novellas here were just icing on the cake. I’ve been following the stories of BK’s world for a long time but still, I can’t wait to devour more! Diego’s Cusp got me so excited for more stories in BK’s colorful world of organized crime.

He puts the Bad in bad boy.

I’ve done my time as undercover elite security and I’m ready for a change. Seeking redemption and a slower pace, I return to the one place I once vowed not to—Solace Pointe.

Then, I was a hometown hero—star quarterback and Delilah Noelle’s one and only.

I didn’t come back looking for trouble, but it seems to be leading me right back to Delilah.

She puts the Sweet in sweetheart.

I finally freed myself from a bad marriage. Running my family farm is hard work, but it’s become my safe haven. That is until gossip travels down the grapevine that Jason Koster is back in town. If there was ever a man who held my heart in his hands, it was him.

Then, I had stars in my eyes—a beauty queen and madly in love with the man of my dreams.

Now, I live a peaceful life alone on the farm.

Meet S.L. Scott
New York Times and USA Bestselling Author, S. L. Scott, was always interested in the arts. She grew up painting, writing poetry and short stories, and wiling her days away lost in a good book and the movies.
With a degree in Journalism, she continued her love of the written word by reading American authors like Salinger and Fitzgerald. She was intrigued by their flawed characters living in picture perfect worlds, but could still debate that the worlds those characters lived in were actually the flawed ones. This dynamic of leaving the reader invested in the words, inspired Scott to start writing with emotion while interjecting an underlying passion into her own stories.
Living in the capital of Texas with her family, Scott loves traveling and avocados, beaches, and cooking with her kids. She’s obsessed with epic romances and loves a good plot twist. She dreams of seeing one of her own books made into a movie one day as well as returning to Europe. Her favorite color is blue, but she likens it more toward the sky than the emotion. Her home is filled with the welcoming symbol of the pineapple and finds surfing a challenge though she likes to think she’s a pro.

Finding Solace is the quintessential second chance romance that will surely tug at the heartstrings with bittersweet nostalgia and enduring emotions.
This is my first time reading a book by S.L. Scott and I must say that I am very impressed. I loved how she set the tone for a small-town romance, it will definitely give you all the feels you need to satisfy your romantic heart.
Delilah and Jason were such great characters! I loved their sizzling chemistry and they were simply magical together. I also loved how the author conveyed the insecurities from both of the characters. It perfectly portrayed the trials and tribulations of young love. But in the end, they still managed to find a way back to each other.
This is such a great read! I cannot wait to read more of S.L. Scott’s works! I really hope Shelby and Billy will get a book too. Now, I’m off to read another one of her books, Savage, since I heard that Jason’s character is also featured there.
